Privacy notice
Pilot notice, in plain language. Last updated 2026-10-04. This has not been reviewed by a lawyer.
What is stored
- Owners: name, email address, a scrambled (hashed) password, and the properties, jobs, photos, measurements and notes you enter.
- Contractors: the business name and the phone number or email you type when you respond, plus your questions, quotes and any files you upload.
- A short activity history for each job (for example “scope published”, “quote submitted”).
Who can see what
- An owner sees only their own properties and jobs.
- Anyone holding an invitation link sees that job’s published packet. The packet never includes the street address, the owner’s contact details or budget, or other contractors.
- A contractor sees the packet and their own questions and quote. The street address appears only if the owner releases it to that contractor.
- A capture helper sees one job’s photo and measurement tasks and nothing else.
Photos
Location data is removed from every photo and video before it is stored. Uploaded PDFs are stored as received, so check them before uploading.
What is not done
- No advertising, no third-party analytics, no selling or sharing of data.
- No emails or texts are sent by the service at this stage.
- The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in and remember a contractor’s own private link on their device.
Where it is kept
During the pilot, data is stored on a computer run by the operator of this ScopeLink site, with a daily backup on the same machine. Pages are served over an encrypted connection.
Deletion and questions
To see, correct or delete your data, contact the person who invited you to ScopeLink. An owner can switch off any link at any time; that stops future access but cannot recall a screenshot or a printed copy someone already made.
